About Us
The Well Traveled Pet Mission Statement: We are dedicated to helping people and their pets go places. A simple statement backed by so many complex reasons. Travel can be difficult at the best of times and so we offer a safe and easy method of transporting your cat, dog or other domestic pet. We do not believe that pets are luggage and should never be stowed in the baggage hold of an airplane. Too many things can go wrong - and do. Unless your pet is small enough to stow under your seat, you aren't left with too many choices. We transport your pet by climate-controlled van, stopping every 3 hours for exercise and potty breaks for the dogs. Kitties ride in private carriers and spend time in our kitty condo, a two-level cage with snuggly bed and litter box. Your pets' food is served on the schedule you provide and fresh water is offered at all times. See our FAQ page for more detailed explanation of our services. "Safety is our passion, pampering your pet is our pleasure!" US DOT #1107495 - check our safety rating at SAFER by entering the authority number in the "Enter Value" field. USDA license #92-T-0010. Our agent's name and number is available on request.
Owner and First Seat Driver - Karen Olin
Karen has spent 17 years in the Transportation Industry as a truck driver. The first 10 years she shared her 18-wheeler with a Doberman/Dane mix named Kixx. After he passed, BadCat Barnum joined her, followed by Wyatt Earp Kitty. After 1.4 million miles traveling America's roads, she has a thing or two to say about safety and four-legged companions on the road. For the last 11 years, Karen has written a guest article for the Humane Society of Cottage Grove's (Oregon) quarterly newsletter. In the years before her trucking career, Karen showed cats, taking two of her Household Pets to Supreme Grand Master titles with The International Cat Association and owns numerous riding championships on her American Quarter Ponies and four California state parade championships on her Appaloosa stallion. She has transported horses from coast to coast for major breeders and even spent a bit of time handling dogs. When it comes to traveling and critters, well - Karen has been there and done that! In addition to driving she blogs about her many experiences and is happy to answer your critter shipping questions. She may be reached at welltraveledpet@gmail.com
Team Driver - Paul Clack
Paul has also spent many years in the transportation industry with experience in Hospitality and Tourism Management before his gypsy days of cross-country trucking. Paul lives aboard a beautiful antique yacht floating in the Columbia River outside of Portland, OR. He shared this living arrangement for a time with his Doberman Pinscher, Zeus. Paul admittedly wasn't too into cats until he joined KT Carriers and met Barnum and Wyatt. They changed his tune! He too, saw the problems that pet owners face in their travels and brings his dedication to helping keep our van safe and your pet happy and stress-free.
