FAQs

HOW WILL YOU CARE FOR MY PET DURING TRANSPORT?

Your pet will be transported in our customized and climate controlled Sprinter van. Our team of professional drivers are pet lovers and licensed pet handlers. (USDA 92-T-0010) All pets must be crated, you may ship your pet with your crate or use one of our kennel cages and cats have the option of riding in our penthouse style cage. This is perfect for multi-cat households. Potty and exercise breaks are regularly scheduled for dogs while cats will have constant access to litter boxes. Water is available on demand and feeding times are administered according to your instructions. All pets will be shamelessly pampered.

WHY TRANSPORT MY PET BY VAN?

Pets are transported for many reasons including those being sold, bred, exhibited or moved with their households. Riding in a vehicle is not a favored activity of many pets, especially cats, but shipping them in the cargo hold of an airplane like common baggage is beyond the control of you or even the airline staff. By having a professional driver/handler with your pet at all times, your cat or dog can have a better chance at an enjoyable trip. Pets are monitored for signs of sickness and a vet is called whenever required.

WHAT ABOUT WINTER TRAVEL?

We operate throughout the winter months. However, there is no guarantee of the time it takes to get your pet delivered. Our drivers will continue as long as they feel the situation is safe. If the weather or the road conditions warrant a shut-down, the driver will remain with the animals in the van. If it is severe enough, all animals are moved into a hotel room in their crates. There is no extra charge and we ask that you please understand that conditions dictate each trip on an individual basis.

ARE YOUR RATES COMPETITIVE WITH AIRLINES?

Occasionally, but not on purpose. Other than getting your pet from Point A to B, there are no real comparisons between ground and air transport. We don't make you go somewhere hours out of your way and then wait on us for more hours. We are door-to-door. We don't stick your pet in a dark hold with no climate control, no personal attention, no potty breaks, no food or water. You can call us anytime during your pet's travels with us and we will even let you talk to your pet on speakerphone. Yes, we do take days instead of hours but we believe it is worth the extra time, because after all, your pet is a family member not a piece of baggage!

WHEN CAN YOU TRANSPORT MY PET?

When does your pet need to go? Reservations as far in advance as possible are recommended but don't be afraid to ask if there is room for your pet on the next trip. Trips are booked on a first-come, first-scheduled basis so it is possible that your pet may ride with us for extra miles due to the logistical setup of each individual trip. We realize that you want your pet right away and in most cases, it will not add more than a day or two to the overall trip. However we still guarantee the same pampering - no matter how long your fuzzy family member is with us in the van.

WHERE DO YOU GO?

We serve the 48 contiguous United States. We usually make a couple of loops around the country each month. Our logistical experience is invaluable when it comes to routing and planning our trips.

WHAT DOES MY PET NEED FOR TRANSPORT?

Your pet will need a current health certificate from your vet. Upon booking your trip, you will be asked to provide other pertinent documents that may apply such as registration papers, breeding certificates, bills of sale, insurance papers, etc. Information for a minimum of two contact persons must be included.

You pet will need a few days supply of the pet food he or she is used to eating. Abrupt changes in feed along with the drama of being shipped can bring forth some uncomfortable results for your pet.

Collar or harness and ID tags must be worn by all animals. You may include favorite treats, toys, beds or blankies. An (unlaundered) article of clothing such as an old T-shirt or pajamas goes a long way to relieve separation anxiety. You may ship your pet in an approved carrier or in one of ours.

For domestic pets other than cats or dogs, please ask about special handling. Custom, private shipping is also available. All prices include fuel surcharges.

WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL AFTER PAYING THE BOOKING DEPOSIT?

If you cancel within 2 weeks of scheduled transport there is a $50 (fifty dollar) fee. You will be refunded the balance of your payment. If you cancel more than 2 weeks before your pet(s)' scheduled trip, you will be refunded your entire payment.

WHAT ABOUT VAN MAINTENANCE?

Our vans travel thousands of miles each month. It is not uncommon for us to make two complete loops around the United States in a four week period. Therefore, the van needs extra attention. There is a scheduled 24 hour stop in Oregon and another in North Carolina at our local terminals to give our mechanics a chance to do maintenance and repairs. If your pet is on the van as it passes through either the Eugene, OR or Charlotte, NC areas, he/she will be treated to a day at one of our facilities. Both locations are in the country and provide lots of extra-special attention. The USDA regulations still apply as far as accommodations for your pet but we just need you to know that there is an automatic extra day of travel time for these routes.
